Athletics Place Pinder On Disabled List, Recall Barreto

The Oakland Athletics have recalled infielder Franklin Barreto from Triple-A Nashville and placed infielder Chad Pinder on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to July 28 with a left elbow laceration.

Pinder on the season has played in 71 games while batting .259/.332/.453 with ten home runs and 23 RBI. This is his second stint on the disabled list this season, his first being in April with a hyperextended left knee.

This is now the fifth time Barreto has been called up to the Athletics. He has played 20 games with Oakland this season where he is batting .214/.241/.429 with three home runs and ten RBI.
