Welcome to the Blind Optimist Challenge!

The Drive’s Carmichael Dave and Kyle Madson lovingly labeled KHTK’s Matt George a “blind optimist” over the summer, due to his positive approach to a questionable Sacramento Kings off-season. Despite having the longest playoff drought in the NBA, Matt is so confident in the Kings that he is taking his optimism to a whole new level.

Throughout the 2018-19 NBA season, Matt will issue different pro-Kings wagers. Should he lose those wagers, Matt will have to appear on The Drive with Dave and Kyle to spin the wheel of punishment, consisting of different physical and embarrassing tasks that he will have to complete. For every wager won, Matt receives a get-out-of-jail free card that he can use to get out of any punishment of his choice. Let the games begin!

Here are the wagers so far…

OPENING NIGHT (10/7) – Marvin Bagley will score more points in his debut than Luka Doncic

SEASON LONG – The Sacramento Kings will win as many or more games as they did with DeMarcus Cousins (33+)

VS LAKERS (11/10) – Kings will hold LeBron James to 20 points or less.

VS WARRIORS (1/5) – Warriors wont make more than 9 three-pointers.

VS MAVERICKS (3/21) – Luka Doncic wont score more than 18 points.

Wager #1: Marvin Bagley will score more points in his debut than Luka Doncic

FAIL

Luka Doncic – 10 points in 31 minutes.

Marvin Bagley – 6 points in 12 minutes.
