“Never tell me the odds.” It is a good thing Sacramento Kings fans share this iconic sentiment with the Millennium Falcon’s captain. On Monday ESPN.com’s Ramona Shelburne reported that LeBron James doesn’t want to be the recipient of elaborate pitch meetings from teams, but that didn’t stop Kings fans from shooting their shot.
Over the weekend billboards simply reading “#KingsJames” with a gold crown with James’ number “23” printed on were spotted throughout Sacramento with photos and posts to social media indicating that the digital billboard has been seen in at least two locations: along Highway 99, and on Highway 50 near the Hazel Avenue exit.
It is unknown who is/are the person(s) who paid for the billboard spot, however Outfront Media, which manages the billboard, told FOX40, “We are sworn to secrecy but I can tell you it was sponsored by some excited Kings’ fans.”
Guess we will have to wait until July 1st when free agency begins to see if the Kings can land The King.
Just driving down 99 and saw this! This a joke?!….Bron to Sac?!?…..what! #nba #KingsJames #SacramentoProud #kings #lebron pic.twitter.com/2oLOL7QjHu
