The Brandon Moss return-to-Oakland tour didn’t even make it back to Oakland.

Acquired from the Kansas City Royals in a trade this winter, Moss was always a long-shot to make the daily roster because of the talent ahead of him at his three positions; first base, right field, and designated hitter.

Moss batted .254 with 76 home runs and 220 RBI’s in his three years with Oakland from 2012 to 2014. That’s more home runs and RBIs in a single season than in his last three seasons combined.

At age 34, Moss told reporters that he will retire if he cannot find another major league contract.
