The good feels of a tight victory in Arizona last week didn’t last long. Sunday the Oakland Raiders fell back into the mundane struggles that have plagued their season, dropping their 9th game of the season 34-17 to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Raiders did manage to get off to a strong start, scoring a touchdown on their 81-yard opening drive. But their next four series resulted in punts and only other first half points came off a field goal late in the 2nd quarter. Derek Carr completed only 47% of his passes for 194 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Running back Doug Martin had a solid day collecting 51 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
Oakland’s defense, despite giving up 34 points, wasn’t awful. They forced two interceptions from Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, filling in for the injured Joe Flacco. Jackson managed just a touchdown and 178 yards in the air on 14 completed passes. However, Baltimore dominated the run-game, finishing with 242 yards on the ground.
Former Raiders wide receiver, and top target for Carr, Michael Crabtree caught three passes for 21 yards and a touchdown against his former squad.
The Raiders, now 2-9, face the Kansas City Chiefs inside the Colisuem this Sunday for Week 13 action.
