The Sacramento Kings packed their backs after an eventful week here in Sacramento, playing host to the inaugural California Classic, and headed to Las Vegas for the annual Las Vegas NBA Summer League. The Kings, headlined by number 2 pick in 2018 Draft Marvin Bagley III, took on the Phoenix Suns and number 1 pick in the draft, bigman DeAndre Ayton.

Though the game was supposed to highlight the match-up between this years top picks, it was the Kings first round pick of last years draft that shined brightest in the Vegas lights. After missing all of last season recovering from ACL injuries suffered in high school, the long awaited return of Harry Giles III has proved to be worth the wait. The rookie showed out in his Vegas debut posting a team high 17 points, 6 rebound, 5 steal stat-line.

The Kings lost 63-71.
They were back in action Sunday taking on the Los Angeles Clippers, this time without Bagley who is out with a tweak in his hip flexor that will likely sideline him for most, if not all, of summer league. Yet again Kings rookie Harry Giles made his presence known, this time early in the game with this powerful right-hand slam.

Justin Jackson had himself a standout game posting 28 points and hitting 4 threes, however it was not enough as the Kings fell to LA 78-88.
