VIDEO: North Korean Speed Skater Attempts To Trip Opponent

The Winter Games are underway, and North Korea is stirring up some controversy.
A speed skater from North Korea allegedly tried to trip a Japanese opponent in the men’s short track speed skating 500m heat.
According to Newsweek, Jong Kwang Bom was the skater in question. North and South Korea, Japan, and the United States were the competing countries in the race.
Bom, 16, fell almost immediately and attempted to grab Keita Watanabe’s blade. After a restart, Bom was disqualified.
South Korean athlete Daeheon Hwang ended up winning the gold.
