Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals against the St. Louis Blues ended the San Jose Sharks season. It may have also ended the Joe Pavelski era in San Jose.

With free agency being on July 1, Pavelski is an unrestricted free agent who can sign wherever he chooses. According to Craig Custance of The Athletic, there’s plenty of interest in the 34-year-old with the number of interested teams in the “double-digits.”

Pavelski has already began meeting with teams including the Dallas Stars and the Tampa Bay Lightning with a potential meeting with the Minnesota Wild in the near future.

Where does this leave the Sharks in the Pavelski sweepstakes? According to Custance, “He’s set up to get a great deal on the market. At this point, my guess would be no.”

Keving Kutz of The Athletic tweet on Friday the same sentiment as Custance regarding a Pavelski/Sharks reunion.

If this is the end of the road for Pavelski in San Jose, he will be remembered as one of their all-time greats. Over his 13 seasons in the teal and black, the captain netted 355 goals and had 406 assists.
