Oakland has now won 17 of their past 22 contests

As the summer weather heats up, the Oakland Athletics are finding a hot-streak of their own.

Brett Anderson pitched six strong innings and Ramon Laureano drilled his 18th home run of the year as the A’s completed their three-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox with a 3-2 walk-off victory.

Laureano’s seventh-inning blast tied the game at 2-2, a tie that would remain until the Athletics’ centerfielder dug into the box with a runner on base in the bottom of the ninth inning. With some help from Chicago White Sox shortstop Jose Rondon, Oakland enjoyed a walk-off win after a groundball from Ramon Laureano was thrown past second base and deep into foul territory, allowing Chad Pinder to score all the way from first base to seal the series sweep.

With the win, the A’s move to 53-41 on the season as they are currently among the hottest teams in the league, not to mention in control of the second Wild Card spot as August nears.

Brett Anderson gave up two runs over 6.2 innings of work while striking out three batters in a no-decision. Mark Canha picked up two hits in the win, while Matt Chapman delivered his 54th RBI of the season via a groundout in the 3rd inning.

The A’s will look to move their winning streak to five on Tuesday night when they face the Seattle Mariners at the Coliseum.

Game 2: Saturday, July 13 – A’s 13, White Sox 2

Franklin Barreto hit a three-run home run while Matt Chapman and Robbie Grossman each added three RBI of their own as the Athletics handled the White Sox by a final of 13-2 on Saturday in Oakland.

Game 1: Friday, July 12 – A’s 5, White Sox 1

Mike Fiers delivered a masterful performance with 7.2 shutout innings of work as the Athletics welcomed Chicago back from the All-Star break with a 5-1 final.

Picking up his 9th win of the season, Fiers struck out four batters and only walked one as he lowered his ERA to 3.61 on the year. Jurickson Profar, Mark Canha and Ramon Laureano homered to pace the Oakland offense on Friday night as they started the second half of the season off with a bang,
