The right-hander is 5-2 with a 2.61 ERA over his last 10 starts

The Oakland Athletics remained hot over the weekend, taking two out of three games from the Chicago White Sox to improve to 67-51 on the season.

Chris Bassitt hurled seven shutout innings while striking out seven batters in the win, lowering his ERA to 3.56 on the season.

White Sox starter Lucas Giolito struck out 13 Oakland batters over only six innings, but the A’s broke through in the fourth inning on Matt Olson’s two-run homer. Olson has 23 home runs on the year, now six away from tying his 2018 total of 29. The 25 year-old finished with two hits on the day to pace the A’s offense.

Oakland will be back in action on Tuesday night when they kick off the Battle of the Bay against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park.

Game 2: Saturday, August 10 – White Sox 3, A’s 2

Trailing 3-0 in the ninth inning, the Athletics fought back to cut the deficit to one before falling short as the White Sox outlasted Oakland by a final of 3-2 on Saturday night.

Tanner Roark had another nice outing for the A’s, only giving up two earned runs while striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings of work. White Sox starter Reynaldo Lopez stymied the Oakland offense with six innings of shut out ball.
