Oakland enters play on Tuesday night one game back of the second Wild Card spot

September baseball has arrived.

The Oakland Athletics will face the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night looking to climb back into the second Wild Card spot.

After dropping two-of-three against the Yankees in the Bronx, Athletics ace Mike Fiers will take the ball on Tuesday night looking for his 14th win of the season. Over his last ten starts, Fiers is 5-0 with a 2.43 ERA and 45 strikeouts.

Matt Olson missed 35 of the first 37 games this year, but that has not slowed the 25 year-old slugger. The gold-glove first baseman is batting .269 with 28 home runs and 69 RBI in 103 games of action. Olson hit two homers over the weekend, pulling himself within one long-ball of his career-high of 29 that he hit last season.

For Los Angeles, Mike Trout is enjoying another MVP-caliber season. The eight-time All-Star is batting .293 with 43 home runs and 101 RBI. Trout has a .279 average with 16 home runs and 47 RBI over 72 career games at the Coliseum.
