After starting the season 0-5, Sacramento has gone 7-3 over their past ten contests

Bogdan Bogdanovic made his return to the court and Harrison Barnes scored a season-high 26 points on Sunday night as the Sacramento Kings defeated the Washington Wizards 113-106 at Capital One Arena.

After missing Friday night’s loss in Brooklyn, Bogdanovic was considered doubtful for Sunday’s contest. Hours before the game, the 27 year-old tested his hamstring and was given the green-light to suit up and play.

In a game where neither team led by double-digits, Bogdanovic drilled a dagger three-pointer with 1:28 remaining to give Sacramento a 110-101 lead. Shortly after, Bogi would hit two free-throws to ice the game for good, giving the Kings their seventh win of the season (7-8).

Bogdanovic would finish with 21 points, four rebounds and four assists over 28 minutes of action.

The heartbeat of the Kings offense on Sunday night was Harrison Barnes, who tied his season-high of 26 points. Barnes had an extremely efficient night shooting the basketball, going seven-for-eight from the field and a perfect three-for-three from downtown. The veteran forward also converted nine of his 11 free-throw attempts and grabbed four rebounds in the winning effort.

Over his past four contests, Barnes is averaging 18 points per game while shooting 57-percent from the field and 50-percent from three-point land.

Richaun Holmes had his fifth double-double of the season, scoring 16 points to go along with 10 rebounds and four blocked shots. Nemanja Bjelica grabbed 12 rebounds of his own while dishing three assists and swiping three steals.

Coming into action on Sunday night, the Wizards ranked first in the NBA in scoring at 120.1 points per game. Sacramento held the Washington offense to 106 points on 45-percent shooting, while also holding All-Star guard Bradley Beal to 20 points on eight-of-18 from the field.

After starting the season 0-5, the Kings have dug themselves out of a rut and can even pull themselves to the .500 mark on Monday with a win over the Boston Celtics.

Coming Up

The Kings will travel to Boston on Monday to play the second leg of a back-to-back against Jayson Tatum and the Celtics.

On Friday, Boston’s All-Star guard Kemba Walker suffered a concussion and neck injury after a scary collision with his teammate that ended with Walker being taken off of the court on a stretcher. The 29 year-old was diagnosed with a concussion and released from the hospital the same evening. Walker is doubtful for Monday’s game against the Kings

Sacramento’s last win in Boston came in January of 2007. Can they claim a win on Monday to climb back to .500?
