Buddy Hield sets Kings franchise record for made three-pointers in losing effort against Boston

For the second time this season, Buddy Hield had a massive game against the Boston Celtics. The sharpshooter scored a career-high 41 points on a Sacramento franchise-record 11 made three-point field goals.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the Sacramento Kings.

Jaylen Brown had 24 points and Jayson Tatum had 20 points to lead the Boston Celtics over the Sacramento Kings by a final of 103-102 on Monday night at TD Garden.

After the Celtics went on a 25-7 run to end the first half, Hield caught fire in the third period, dropping 21 points to tie the game at 83-83 heading into the final period. Sacramento took a 102-101 lead on Bogdan Bogdanovic three with 39 seconds to go before Marcus Smart answered back with a layup to give Boston the lead for good.

Bogdanovic finished with 13 points and eight assists for Sacramento, while Harrison Barnes topped the 20-point mark for the second consecutive game with 20 points and three rebounds.

Hield finished 15-for-26 from the field and sank 11-of-21 of his three-point attempts, a new Sacramento franchise-record.

Coming Up

Sacramento will travel to Philadelphia on Wednesday night to face Joel Embiid and the 76ers.

Last season, the Kings split the two-game series with Philly, including a 105-98 win in February at Golden 1 Center.
