Hield made it into the final round last year, but fell short to the eventual champion Joe Harris

Buddy Buckets will get a shot at redemption.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports, Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield has accepted an invitation to this year’s Three-Point Contest at NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago.

Hield, 27, is averaging 20.3 points per game this season while shooting 37-percent from beyond the three-point line. The fourth-year guard has made 178 three-pointers this season, ranking second in the league behind James Harden (202).

Last season, Hield was invited to participate in the contest and made it into the finals after posting a score of 26 in the first round. He would fall short in the finals to Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry and the eventual winner Joe Harris of the Brooklyn Nets to finish third-overall in the contest.

The last Sacramento King to win the three-point shootout was Peja Stojakovic, who won in 2002 and 2003.
