According to KCRA, the Sacramento Area has been affected with the known Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Sacramento schools, such as Leonardo De Vinci Middle School, are taking action wanting to keep their students safe and healthy. “Community members have been asked to self-quarantine due to potential exposure to COVID-19… at this time no one in the family has any symptoms” says the principal of Leonardo De Vinci Middle school.

There has been a confirmed case of the Coronavirus in Yolo County.  According to The Sac Bee on Friday, March 6, 2020, a older woman is currently being hospitalized, “but has been improving,” says the County News release. Officials say that she could have caught the virus through community transmission which means she did not travel or have close contact with anyone who did.

There are no school closures yet pertaining to the virus, but schools will practice proper hygiene and deep cleaning. All schools should be stocked with hand sanitizer, soaps, and facial tissues. Any students or staff showing symptoms are asked to stay at home. For more information, go to our partners KCRA.com.
