Sacramento tied a franchise-record with 21 made three-pointers in their win in Portland

If the Sacramento Kings are going to end a 14-year playoff drought, they are going to need to rack up some big wins down the closing stretch of the season.

Saturday night in Portland was a good start.

Bogdan Bogdanovic finished with 27 points to lead the Kings to their first win in Portland in over seven years, winning 121-111 on Saturday night at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

Bogdanovic finished with seven made three-pointers, as the Kings tied their franchise record for most three-pointers in a game with 21. They tied their record earlier this season in a win against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Trail Blazers, who Sacramento holds a lead over in the race for the eighth seed, lost their second game in as many nights after losing on Friday night to the Phoenix Suns. With the win, the Kings created some separation, now sitting a game ahead of Portland in the standings while gaining sole possession of the ninth seed in the Western Conference.

Sacramento (28-35) trails the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies (32-32) by 3.5 games with 19 games left to play.

De’Aaron Fox notched a double-double in the win, finishing with 14 points, 11 assists and five rebounds. Buddy Hield had a strong showing off of the bench, scoring 22 points on six-of-nine from beyond the three-point line. Harrison Barnes drilled five three-pointers of his own, scoring 20 points in the victory.

The Kings welcomed back Richaun Holmes, who had not played in over two months due to a shoulder injury. Holmes finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and a blocked shot in 19 minutes of action.

Coming Up

It will be a quick turnaround for Sacramento, as they will return home on Sunday to play the second-game of a back-to-back against the reigning champion Toronto Raptors.
