Athletics Acquire Fernando Rodney

The Oakland Athletics have acquired RHP Fernando Rodney from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for minor league RHP Dakota Chalmers.

On the season, the 41 year-old reliever has a 3.09 ERA in 43.2 innings pitched with 25 saves and 50 strikeouts. In his 16 year career, he has 325 saves and an ERA of 3.70.

Rodney is the second bullpen pitcher the Athletics have acquired this season after they traded for Jeurys Familia from the Mets on July 21.
