The former head coach joined the show to discuss what it was like working under Pat Riley, coaching USA basketball and much more

This week on the Grant Napear Show with Doug Christie, former NBA head coach and current ESPN broadcaster Jeff Van Gundy joined the show to talk basketball and share some career experiences.

Van Gundy, who coached in the NBA as an assistant coach and head coach for more than a decade, took the New York Knicks to the NBA Finals in 1999. Over 11 seasons as a head coach, Van Gundy held a 430-318 record.

In the beginning of his coaching career, Van Gundy worked under NBA Hall of Fame coach Pat Riley. Van Gundy shared his memories on meeting Riley and what it was like to be apart of his coaching staff.

Later in the interview, Van Gundy shares stories of his coaching experiences, what he has learned from broadcasting legends Marv Albert and Mike Breen, how he views himself as a broadcaster and much more.
