One year ago today, Chad Pinder sent A’s fans home happy
All athletic events will be on pause for the foreseeable future, which is a tough pill to swallow for sports fans around the world.
While this may be a rough time for Oakland Athletics fans, we can look back on some good times while we wait for baseball to make its return.
April 24, 2019: A’s 6, Rangers 5
Tied at 5-5 in the bottom of the ninth, Oakland Athletics outfielder Chad Pinder came through when it mattered most.
After Stephen Piscotty singled and stole second base, Pinder came to the plate with two outs.
On a 1-1 pitch, Pinder lofted a single into right-center field and the A’s celebrated a 6-5 win over the Texas Rangers, their third straight win as they climbed above the .500 mark (14-13).
The walk-off win was the first of the season for the Athletics.
Marcus Semien went two-for-five with a home run and three RBI while Matt Chapman hit his eighth home run of the season. Pinder and Nick Hundley picked up two hits each in the win for Oakland.
