Sacramento Kings guard Frank Mason III is being sued by Lil Wayne’s Young Money APAA Sports Group is $92,000 as well as demanding the return of a diamond Young Money chain and damages.
Young Money says Mason received $40,000, in addition to paying his pre-draft expenses totaling $52k, and gave him an $11,000 diamond Young Money chain and is claiming that the contract states if you leave the agency, all of those expenses (along with the diamond chain) are to be repaid.
According to Lil Wayne and company, Mason never returned the money or the jewelry.
Mason signed with Young Money before being drafted only to leave the agency in April.
TmZ claims that Mason left Young Money APAA Sports Group in April “at the urging of a former YM employee” so, something strange is going on over there, but we’ll have to see how this all shakes out.
In his rookie year, Mason averaged 7.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game on 37.9% shooting from the court. He is set to make $1.378 million this season and has a non-guaranteed salary of $1.618 million for the 2019-2020 season, per Basketball Reference.
