Two years ago today, the Oakland Athletics routed the Kansas City Royals by a whopping 16 runs

All athletic events will be on pause for the foreseeable future, which is a tough pill to swallow for sports fans around the world.

While this may be a rough time for Oakland Athletics fans, we can look back on some good times while we wait for baseball to make its return.

June 1, 2018: A’s 16, Royals 0

Athletics started Frankie Montas tossed eight shut-out innings, an impressive started backed by an even more impressive offensive display as the Oakland A’s pummeled the Kansas City Royals by a final of 16-0 on this date in 2018.

Matt Olson hit two home runs for the A’s a solo shot and a three-run shot to go along with a run-scoring single to give him five RBI on the night.

Outfielder Dustin Fowler drilled two home runs of his own while catcher Jonathan Lucroy picked up three hits in the winning effort. Stephen Piscotty went two-for-five with two RBI and Matt Chapman drove in a run on two hits during a night that Oakland pushed across 16 runs on 16 hits.

Montas struck out two batters and walked none over eight innings while throwing 99 pitches to improve to 2-0 on the season with a 0.64 ERA.
