De’Aaron Fox Suffers Left Ankle Sprain During Practice

The star guard will be reevaluated in 7-10 days
With just over two weeks until the first game of the NBA restart, the Sacramento Kings could be without their franchise guard when play begins later this month.
Point guard De’Aaron Fox suffered a left ankle sprain during practice on Wednesday afternoon, per a release from the team. It is the same ankle that Fox injured in November during a practice that resulted in the speedy guard missing 16 games.
Per the release, Fox will be reevaluated in 7-10 days.
In his third season of NBA action, the Kentucky product was on a tear after missing time due to his initial ankle injury.
Over 45 games, Fox held season averages of 20.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game while shooting 47-percent from the field. Heading into the season hiatus, Fox was playing his best basketball of his career, scoring 23.4 points per game on 50-percent shooting over his last nine contests.
The Kings will play their first ‘pre-season’ scrimmage game next Wednesday, July 22nd in the first of three preparation games before opening the final eight-game slate on July 31st against San Antonio.
Along with Fox’s uncertainty for the season restart, forward Harrison Barnes and center Alex Len are currently recovering from the coronavirus (COVID-19). Both players must test negative for the virus two times over a 24-hour window to be cleared for travel to Orlando.
Center Richaun Holmes mistakenly crossed the ‘NBA Bubble’ borders over the weekend and will remain in isolation until July 22nd.
Sacramento is 9-10 in games that Fox does not play this season.
