Less than an hour before kickoff, Wednesday night’s Sacramento Republic FC vs Orange County FC match was abruptly postponed after the clubs learned of positive COVID-19 tests from a recent opponent.

A source close to the LA Galaxy II, who Sacramento played in Los Angeles on Saturday night, says that as many as 11 members of the club have tested positive. There wasn’t any specification as to whether or not the positive tests were all players.

Following their match with the Galaxy, Sacramento underwent standard USL Championship protocol with full COVID testing. The results were completely negative.

According to Republic FC President Ben Gumpert, there is no set date yet on when the match between Sacramento and Orange County will be held.
