We continue with our third week looking for another NFL tie this season. Last week I predicted that the Ravens and Steelers would tie, and late in that game it was a possibility, but Steelers pulled it out 28 to 24.
When all hope seemed to be lost there was a chance of a tie in the late games with the Saints at the Bears. With 18 seconds left in the 4th quarter Cario Santos stepped up big to hit a 51 yard field Goal and send the game into overtime.
The Bears forced a pick quick punt from the Saints, and the Saints returned the favor. For a slim chance we had our second tie in the NFL this season, but Chicago could not hold Drew Brees off a second time and the Saints won 26 to 23 in overtime.
Looking forward to Week 9 I see two possibilities to get our second tie of the Season. The first is, ironically, my first prediction of a tie this season the New York Giants and the Washington Football Team. The last time they met Washington had a chance to tie, but went for the two point conversion instead. They will have learned their lesson this time. The other game to keep an eye on is the Patriots and Jets on Monday Night. They are both awful and I don’t think I would want Newton or Darnold (maybe) to make a final drive for a win.
