The former Kings guard and head coach joined the show to reminisce on his playing for his former coach Jerry Reynolds
Former Sacramento Kings guard and head coach Reggie Theus joined The Carmichael Dave Show with JayMarzz this week to discuss the career of franchise legend Jerry Reynolds.
Interview with Reggie Theus begins at the 01:00 mark
Theus, who played for Sacramento during the inaugural 1985 season in the California state capital, was with the franchise from 1984-1988.
During his time in Sacramento, Theus played under then-coach Jerry Reynolds, who was an assistant and then head coach during the 1985-1990 seasons.
Reynolds, who is a beloved figure in the Sacramento community, recently announced his retirement after a long career with the organization as an assistant coach, head coach, general manager and broadcaster.
Theus shared his thoughts on his old coach during Thursday’s edition of The Carmichael Dave Show:
“Tremendous guy, loyal to the bone. Great one liner guy,” Theus said. “Any time that you wanted to make a joke out of something, you just had to talk to Jerry. Because no matter what you’re talking about, he’ll find a way to make a joke–some way.”
Over the course of the interview, Theus goes on to discuss what it was like to play for Reynolds, tell stories and much more.
