It’s Week 12 and we still have not got our second tie of the NFL season. There were several games in Week 11 that had a chance, but no matter how many teams didn’t want to win it was to no avail.

The Packers and Colts made it to overtime on Sunday. Unfortunately, we only had two plays from the Green Bay and a costly fumble from Marquez Valdes-Scantling to end our hopes at a tie.

The other chance at a tie was Monday Night Football with the ball in Tom Brady’s hands late with the Bucs trailing the Rams 27 to 24. All he had to do was get it into field goal range for Ryan Succop, but Brady threw an AWFUL interception.

That takes us to Week 12 and a look at what games could end in a tie, and I’m looking at Thanksgiving. Now there hasn’t been a Thanksgiving tie in the NFL since 1965 when the Baltimore Colts and the Detroit Lions ended the game a 24 points a piece. Ironically, the AFL game played that day also ended with a tie with the Buffalo Bills and the San Diego Chargers tied 20-20.

This Thursday we were supposed to have three chances for an NFL game to end in a draw, but the Steelers and Ravens were postponed until Sunday due to a covid outbreak in the Ravens locker room. I didn’t think that game was going to end in a tie, and I also don’t think the Texans and Lions will end in a tie. Which leaves us with….

The Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Football Team. The NFC East already has one team with a tie and that was the Eagles when they tied the Bengals earlier this season. None of these teams in the division look to NOT win every week. If the Cowboys and Washington end in a tie on Thanksgiving and the Eagles and Giants lose, Dallas, Washington, and Philadelphia will be all be tied at the top of the division with a 3-7-1 record. If this ALL happens I know what I will be giving thanks for this year.
