Golden State built a big lead and never looked back on Monday night

It has been a problematic week for the Sacramento Kings, both on and off the court.

During a week where Twitter drama has been the main headline, the Kings suffered a blowout loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday night, falling 137-106 at Chase Center in San Francisco.

Sacramento (3-4) fell below .500 after suffering its third-straight loss.

The Warriors (4-3) got off to a strong start early, taking a SCORE-SCORE lead in the first-quarter and never looking back en route to their second win in as many nights.

Two-time MVP Stephen Curry, one night removed from a career-high 62 points, was a problem for the Sacramento defense on Monday. Curry finished with 30 points on nine-of-18 shooting from the field.

The main story this week has been Kings forward Marvin Bagley III, whose father, Marvin Bagley Jr., set Twitter ablaze by telling the Kings to trade his son.

“PLEASE trade Marvin Bagley III ASAP! Love – Coach Bagley,” Bagley Jr. tweeted from the Twitter account @TeamBagley during Saturday’s loss to Houston.

Marvin Bagley III, after declining to address the incident when speaking to the media on Sunday, had a very rough showing in Monday’s loss.

Bagley finished with five points on two-of-nine shooting from the field over 24 minutes. The 21-year-old is shooting under 35-percent from the field on the young season.

Harrison Barnes was a silver lining in the blowout loss, scoring 18 points to go along with nine rebounds. Barnes has had a very strong start to the season, filling up the stat sheet each night and providing veteran leadership to this young team.

De’Aaron Fox contributed with 18 points, seven assists and three steals in the loss.

It was a very unideal time for the Sacramento Kings to lay an egg. But as the saying goes: “When it rains, it pours.”

Indeed it is pouring on this franchise at the moment, who just one week ago were enjoying one of the strongest starts in recent memory. Once rookie guard Tyrese Haliburton went down with a wrist injury, the team has not looked the same, falling to 0-3 without their talented rookie.

Haliburton will be examined tomorrow when the team returns to Sacramento. His status for Wednesday’s game against Chicago should be known by Tuesday afternoon.

Getting their rookie back will only solve one of the team’s problems, however, with tension brewing in the locker-room.

With head coach Luke Walton and Bagley both currently giving vague answers regarding the developing drama, you have to wonder how long that this team can move forward without addressing the issue.

If Monday night’s embarrassing loss was an example of what is to come, Sacramento might want to squash this beef before it is too late.

Coming Up

The Kings will look to halt the losing streak at three when they face Zach Lavine and the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.

Sacramento will be starting a seven-game home-stand at Golden 1 Center against a Bulls team that will be on the second-night of a back-to-back.

Last season, the Kings and Bulls split the season series.
