Every week on the show Doug Christie and I debate a few things on a segment we call “either/or”.

It is quite simple there are two choices and we each have to pick one. We might pick the same, we might debate and pick differently, regardless, it usually ends in a decent debate.

Here is this week’s either/or with a nod to the NBA All-Stars. What do you think?

J-Ross & Doug: Either/Or? (March 5, 2021)

Jaylen Brown or Jason Tatum

  • For this one I selected Jaylen Brown. It is tough to decide between the two young Celtic All-Stars. The case for Tatum is that he is an incredible closer. We don’t know that Brown can’t be, it just seems that Boston elects to go with Tatum in late game situations. I love the fact the Brown is a really good two way player. You can’t go wrong with either one but I would take Jaylen Brown.

Giannis or Kawhi

  • Sometimes the answer you go with feels like a slap at the other guy, but it can’t be in this case. Both players are great. Both are really good two way players. My slight lean here is Giannis. He might have a few more limitations than Kawhi. His jump shot is not strong but I feel like he just keeps getting better and that he is not a finished product. He is hungry, and I think will keep going to the lab to work on his game.

Ben Simmons or Paul George

  • For me this one is Paul George. PG has been a bit of a postseason disappointment to me and I have been very critical of him but for me he is far more of a two way player and can shoot the ball too. That is too much of a liability with Simmons and that is why my pick is George.

Steph or Dame

  • I am so impressed by Dame Lillard. I love everything about what he does but the choice here is Steph for me. This margin is razor thin but Steph has been an amazing player, great for the league and one of the greatest shooters I have every seen. This one was really tough but give me Steph.
