The 22-year-old has been out of action since March 15th due to a fractured fourth metacarpal

The Sacramento Kings announced on Thursday morning that forward Marvin Bagley III has been cleared for a return to basketball activities after the medical staff deemed that his fractured fourth metacarpal in his left hand has healed.

Per the release, his game availability will be updated as appropriate.

Over 37 games (all starts) this season, the power forward has posted 13.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game on 50-percent shooting from the field and 35-percent from three-point range.

Bagley’s rebounding presence–along with the absence of front-court mate, Richaun Holmes–has been missed during Sacramento’s rough stretch of games over the past month.

Just last week, head coach Luke Walton told the media that he did not feel that Bagley was close to game action yet. Turns out, the third-year former Duke Blue Devil is a little bit closer than anticipated.

Shortly following the release, James Ham of NBC Sports shared that Bagley is likely to make his return sometime next week, per a source.

The Kings have 14 games remaining in the season, meaning that we will likely get another look at the young big before the offseason begins in mid-May.
