This week on The Jason Ross & Doug Christie Show, former Sacramento Kings power forward Lawrence Funderburke joined the show to talk hoops, emphasize the importance of education, reminisce on the talented early 2000’s Kings teams and much more.

After a successful college career at Ohio State, Funderburke was drafted by the Kings with the 51st selection in the 1994 NBA Draft.
Funderburke spent three seasons playing basketball overseas before joining the Kings in 1997. The 6’9 forward played with Sacramento from 1997-2003, providing a solid bench presence behind 2021 Hall of Fame inductee Chris Webber.
Over seven seasons in the NBA, Funderburke averaged 6.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game on 50-percent shooting from the field.
Throughout the course of the interview, Funderburke spoke about the feeling he had playing under the tutelage of Hall of Fame coach Rick Adelman and what it was like to play behind Webber. Listen as Lawrence also spoke about the disparities in sports that sill happen even in this era of sports.
