Four-Time MLB All-Star Greg Vaughn Guest Hosts The Jason Ross Show

Thursday afternoon was a special one for The Jason Ross Show, as former MLB All-Star and Sacramento native Greg Vaughn joined the show as a guest host.

Vaughn, who attended John F. Kennedy High School and Sacramento City College, played in 15 big league seasons for the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds, Tampa Bay Rays and Colorado Rockies.

The former University of Miami Hurricane clobbered 355 home runs, drove in 1,072 runs and stole 121 bases during his career. Vaughn’s best season came in 1998 when he belted 50 home runs and knocked in 119 RBI with the Padres for a top-four finish in the National League Most Valuable Player voting.

Hour 1

In the first hour of the show, Jason and Greg discuss the excited brand of baseball in the bay with the Giants and the A’s.

Vaughn gives his thoughts on how the surprise first-place Giants are winning and explains why he believes the team is clicking on all cylinders.

Hour 2

In the second hour of the show, Greg gives his thoughts on baseball in the inner city and dives into why it has lacked throughout places like Sacramento for African Americans. Vaughn expands on the topic and explains how much he wishes Major League Baseball would intervene and use some of their resources to better the situation for more opportunities.

Greg and Jason also discuss the lack of field upkeep in the area of baseball fields like his alma mater, John F. Kennedy High School.

Hour 3

In the last hour of the show, Jason and Greg answer a five-pack of questions from Jay Johnson that revolve around Greg’s career for a segment of “5 On It”.

Plus, the guys knock out the crossover question of the day with a choice between two legendary movies.
