Portland will sit a majority of its key contributors tonight against Sacramento

The Sacramento Kings have two games remaining in the preseason before opening up the regular season next Wednesday, October 20th.

Tonight’s contest in Oregon will act as a preview of next week’s season opener as the Kings will face a shorthanded Portland Trail Blazers team.

Injury report per the NBA

Kings vs Blazers Injury Report – October 11, 2021 (as of 2:30pm PST)

Sacramento

  • Marvin Bagley III – OUT (right knee soreness)
  • Tyrese Haliburton – OUT (rest)
  • Buddy Hield – OUT (rest)
  • Tristan Thompson – OUT (rest)

During practice on Sunday, Kings head coach Luke Walton told members of the media that he was considering sitting some of the “top of the rotation” players on Monday in Portland.

Players like Marvin Bagley III and Buddy Hield have been dealing with soreness and could benefit from the extra rest with just nine days until the regular season begins. Walton said that both players are dealing with soreness and added that he wouldn’t necessarily say that either player is “injured”.

With only one more preseason game to go after Monday’s game in Portland, Walton and his staff will aim to get the rotation set by the end of Thursday’s contest against the Los Angeles Lakers.
