The 37th season of Kings basketball in Sacramento is about to begin.

The Kings open their season on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers. Here are some things to get you ready for another season opener and some odds and ends statistics to use if you wish.

Kings Opening Night record (17-19)

  • Kings had lost 3 consecutive opening nights until last year’s season opening win in Denver 124-122 in OT.
  • The Kings road opening record is (12-24) after winning last year in Denver.

  • Derek Smith 36 points (this is from the first ever NBA game played in Sacramento, still a record)
  • Kevin Garnett 34 points
  • Dirk Nowitzki 33 points/Blake Griffin 33 points
  • Marques Johnson 31 points
  • Last year Nikola Jokic did not score 30, but he did have a monster triple double with 29 points, 15 rebounds and 14 assists.
