Richaun Holmes will return to the floor on Tuesday night

Could help be on the way for the Sacramento Kings?

Here are the latest injury updates surrounding the team prior to facing the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night at Golden 1 Center:

Richaun Holmes

Holmes (non-COVID illness) was ruled out for the third-consecutive game prior to Sunday’s contest in Memphis.

The 28-year-old was poked in the eye near the end of Monday night’s game against Philadelphia, but the center returned to the game and later told the media that his vision was “a bit blurry”, though he added that he would “be alright.”

Holmes missed Wednesday night’s game due to an eye contusion before being ruled out on Friday with a non-COVID illness. That illness held the talented center out on Sunday against Memphis, but Holmes will return on Tuesday night to face the Lakers after a three-game absence.

Harrison Barnes

Barnes (right foot sprain) turned his ankle in the closing seconds of the third quarter on a drive to the basket during Wednesday’s win against Portland.

The 10-year veteran hobbles down the floor and finished the final seconds of the period before exiting the game and heading to the locker room.

Barnes missed his second-consecutive game on Sunday, but Gentry said that the forward is improving and that his injury isn’t expected to keep him out long-term. Prior to facing Memphis, Barnes was upgraded from “out” to “doubtful”, and encouraging step in him getting back on the floor.

Gentry told the media that Barnes is considered day-to-day and that the forward will be active sooner than later, although he did not put a timetable on the return. Barnes is listed as doubtful for Tuesday night’s game.

Moe Harkless

Moe Harkless left Friday’s game in Los Angeles due to left knee soreness after taking a bad step in the second quarter.

Harkless is also considered day-to-day, with Gentry sharing that the 28-year-old’s injury is not considered serious. Prior to Sunday’s game in Memphis, the veteran forward was listed as questionable and ruled out minutes before tip-off.

The Kings have listed Harkless as questionable for Tuesday’s tilt with the Lakers.

Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report

  • Trevor Ariza – OUT (Right ankle injury recovery)
  • Avery Bradley – QUESTIONABLE (Right hand soreness)
  • Anthony Davis – PROBABLE (Head contusion)
  • LeBron James – QUESTIONABLE (Rectus Abdominis strain)
  • Kendrick Nunn – OUT (Right knee bone bruise)
  • Chaundee Brown Jr. – OUT (G-League)
