I know, weird headline. But Sunday night, we almost saw the most unlikely perfect game in baseball history, which has been around for at least 20 years. Bartolo Colon is a big dude, who looks more like the number 8 than a pro athlete. He might be 44 years old, he might be 50. We just don’t know.

Against the Astros on Sunday, he was Greg Maddux and Nolan Ryan for 7 plus innings. Think about it- still near the beginning of the year, against the defending champs, with no holes in their lineup, in a league that uses the DH. Incredible.

In the end a walk, a double, and a sac fly later- Colon didn’t even get the win.

But for 7 innings, the rest of us did.

Imagine reading this lede in the paper?
