The scene on the floor Saturday night at Golden 1 Center was scary. The young gun from the Warriors, Patrick McCaw, was in a lot of pain after taking a fall in a collision with Vince Carter.

Though Carter has been playing the game seemingly forever, never has he been known as a dirty player. Ever. Which is why seeing some people react to the play with fury at him was so puzzling.

Fans and some media weren’t the only ones upset with VC. Observe Warriors coach Steve Kerr, or just read his lips:

As McCaw was tended to by personnel, the raw emotions subsided and cooler heads prevailed:

I’m sure Vince would’ve done something different in retrospect, but ultimately its a bang bang play. The Warriors locker room was unanimous that Carter meant no harm. These are big guys going 300 mph at all times, injuries will happen. Hopefully McCaw will make a full and speedy recovery, because no one wants to see plays like this. Especially Vince Carter.
