Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox will be replacing Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball on the U.S. Team in the 2018 Mtn Dew Kickstart Rising Stars.

Lonzo Ball will not be participating due to a sprained MCL.

The Kings acquired Fox as the fifth pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and he is now averaging 11.3 points and 4.3 assists in 27.2 minutes while starting 37 of his 49 games in his rookie season.

Fox’s selection now marks him as the third Kings player in the Mtn Dew Kickstart Rising Stars Game, along with Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic.

Yahoo! Sports’  tweeted:

“Sacramento rookie De’Aaron Fox has replaced Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball in the Rising Stars game at All-Star Weekend.”

The Rising Stars game takes place on Friday, Feb. 16 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
