Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed that Former NBA Player Rasual Butler and a female passenger were killed in a car crash early Wednesday morning in LA, per NBC Washington.

Butler, 38, played with the Washington Wizards from 2014-2015, he also played for the San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers.

According to LAPD, the crash happened inside a shopping plaza in Studio City.

Police received a call at 2:30 a.m. and believe the vehicle was speeding two to three times over the speed limit.

They believe the vehicle struck a curb and began to tumble over until it crashed into a building on the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard.

LA coroner would not confirm the identity of the female passenger because her family had not been notified.

Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.
