As the youth movement gets in full swing, the only Kings news that will likely matter will likely consist of:

– The ping pong ball standings

-Individual performances by the kids

-Trade rumors

Yes I know this is all too familiar. The organization announced Thursday that Harry Giles will basically “redshirt” this season, and go full bore starting in Vegas for Summer League in July. He will continue to practice and travel with the team.

-Bogdan Bogdanovic continues to shine. National media is picking it up, and a push for all-rookie first team isn’t out of the question.

– I’ve said before, if the Kings can develop their youth, secure a high draft pick this summer, and acquire a 2019 pick to replace the one they gave to philly, it’s a banner year. Many have wondered about George Hill’s status, and wit the deadline fast approaching- things are gearing up:

Whether this happens, or does anything to replace that 2019 pick is complicated. We are entering silly season.

In the meantime, the Kings have a long road trip remaining, with a very real chance they could return home having lost 12 in a row. Knowing this squad, there will be a surprise win or two on the horizon.
