Sacramento Republic FC has signed a new goalkeeper, pending league and federation approval.

The club’s website announced the addition of Joshua Cohen on Tuesday.

Head Coach and Technical Director Paul Buckle says:

“Finding a goalkeeper was a big challenge, but as we see now our recruitment efforts have paid off. We believe Josh has the skill set to become a significant asset for our club moving forward, and his stats last season, leading one of the best defenses in USL, back that up.”

Cohen, who was honored as September’s USL Player of the Month, comes to Sacramento from Phoenix Rising FC. Before that he made a name for himself at UC San Diego, where he was a NSCAA Division II First Team All-American.
