On Sunday, December 17, the Oakland Raiders had the Dallas Cowboys at Oakland Alameda Coliseum.
Within the final seconds of the game, Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr didn’t see an opening with his teammates so he decided to run the ball himself.
It looked like it was going to be a win for the Raiders, or at least a chance for them to tie the game and go over time, but as Carr entered the end zone he lost control of the ball and fumbled out of the end zone for a touchback.
Carr’s fumble wound up costing the Raiders’ at least three points and a chance to go into overtime.
The result wound up being a victory to Dallas with the final score being 20-17.

During his postgame press conference NFL released Carr’s statement saying he left it all out there and tried to win for his teammates. Carr said there is ‘no excuse’ to the fact that he fumbled the ball and resulting in the Raiders handing the game over to Dallas.
