San Francisco 49ers fans who were hoping the team would be starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will soon be disappointed on Sunday when they see starting QB C.J. Beathard taking the snaps against the Seattle Seahawks.
49ers beat writer David Lombardi tweeted the news Wednesday afternoon.

Kyle Shanahan told reporters that Garoppolo will not play unless Beathard is injured.
When asked whether Beathard earned another start with the win over the Giants or is Garoppolo just not ready yet, he simply answered “it’s both.”
Beathard thus far has compiled a 4-5 TD-INT ratio since coming into his first game against Washington on October 15.
His best performance was seen on November 12, when he slung two touchdowns and ran for a third against the New York Giants. He completed 19 of 25 passes for 288 yards and finished the 31-21 win with a 123.4 passer rating.
However, since he was traded to the Niners on October 30, Jimmy Garoppolo has been a fan-favorite due to his experience under New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichik and behind 5-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady.
Garoppolo has only started two games for the Patriots during Brady’s suspension last year before suffering a shoulder injury.
He currently has a 5-0 TD-INT ratio, completing 63 of 94 passes for 690 yards.
