The Sacramento Republic FC look to get back to the playoffs and avenge back-to-back early exits at the hands of Swope Park this 2019 season, and they showed off their offensive firepower in a 5-0 win against Sacramento Gold on Saturday night to open up the preseason.

Last year’s leading goal scorer, Cameron Iwasa, opened the scoring with a goal in the 11th minute, off a beautiful assist from Villyan Bijev. Despite scoring early, the Republic were unable to find the back of the net again until the second half, when Stefano Bonomo connected with a strike in the 68th minute. From there the floodgates were opened, with Quincy Butler, Hayden Partain and Tyler Blackwood all scoring before the final whistle.
