The Oakland Raiders addressed one of their weaknesses on defense. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported late Monday night that the Raiders have agreed to a four-year deal with safety Lamarcus Joyner.
Former Rams’ franchise safety Lamarcus Joyner plans to sign a four-year deal with the Oakland Raiders, per source. Raiders keep spending and keep adding.

Paul Gutierrez of ESPN is reporting that the deal is worth around $10.5 million per year. Joyner has played the entirety of his five-year career with the Rams. The 28-year-old finished 2018 with 78 tackles, three for a loss, and an interception. Pro Football Focus rated Joyner the 29th ranked safety out of 93 eligible players.
Joyner can play well in both the passing and run game. Free safety was a need for Oakland and Joyner should fill in nicely. Joyner will be paired with Karl Joseph at safety, who will be entering his fourth season with the Raiders. Joseph will play in the box with Joyner playing over the top.
The Raiders have been busy the past 48 hours, acquiring Joyner, Antonio Brown, and Trent Brown while re-signing Jonathan Hankins.
